Bet you thought I was gone...

It's been a really long time since I have blogged. Time has just really gotten the best of me and to be honest I have been a little lazy on the blogging. Not that I haven't had stuff to say because it seems like things have been crazy....here is the mini update.

Pregnancy: is going great. Things are moving along and I know baby number 2 will be here before we know it. The heartrate has been 150+ at every appointment so I am still convinced Sheridan will have a sister but Jon is still thinking it might be a boy. His intuition primarily comes from how active this baby is. Much more active then Sheridan ever was. I find myself staring at my stomach just waiting to see the next kick or shift. This baby definately keeps me up a lot more at night, hoping this doesn't indicate we have a night owl on the way. We have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to check the progress, hoping we can get a good 4D face shot to share.

Sheridan: What a big girl she is becoming. When I look at pictures of her now I cannot believe how tall and grown up she looks. She is so chatty these days and is really starting to put words into sentences. We just started swimming lessons last weekend and she loved it....blue lips and all she didn't want to get out of the water. We recently switched her to a big girl bed in preparation for the baby, it has been a little rough on all of us but we are taking it one night at a time. She also will be starting daycare (or as we are calling it "school") this week. I think she will really enjoy the interaction with other kids.

Jon, the house and other updates. Jon will be going back to school in 2 weeks to obtain his masters! He will be in class two nights a week, so not looking forward to that but in the long run I think it will be so rewarding for him and I am so excited that he has the motivation and drive to take this step. We have officially painted every room in the house except our bedroom! The nursery is ready and we just painted the office / kids craft room a couple of weekends ago. Slowly, but surely the rooms are starting to look complete.

19 Week Ultrasound

We had our 19 week ultrasound this morning! Baby #2 is doing fabulous, weighing in at 11 oz the baby is in the 78th percentile. Jon tried to sneek a peek at the gender when she told us to look away but no luck deciphering the image. With a heartrate of 153, I am still convinced this will be a girl too. Below are a few of the pics, the little stinker wouldn't look the right direction during the 4D portion so we didn't get a good face shot, but because we were early with Sheridan we will go back for a follow-up ultrasound at 30 weeks so hopefully we will get a good shot then.

Only 3 days until Christmas!!! Will be sure to post pics after the big event!

Family Fun

Thanksgiving, Christmas....I love the holidays! Thanksgiving was fabulous - it was great to see family, funny how little we see each other when we all live so close. Life keeps us all busy, so I am so thankful for the holiday time together. We of course had to get ready for Xmas as soon as Thanksgiving was over. Shopping started at 4AM on black friday - a traditional for me and grandma - we got some excellent deals....I can't wait to wrap everything! After a little cat nap we headed to Village Pointe for dinner and "Santa's Parade" along with the lighting ceremony. Sheridan was really excited and was mesmerized by everything that went by. We captured some great photos outside - we couldn't have asked for better weather. Today we spent the morning with Joe, Alyssa and Lydia - in town for the weekend. It's always good to catch up with friends and I love to see how much Lydia has changed. This afternoon we picked up our Xmas tree - although Sheridan hadn't had much of a nap this afternoon and was a bit on the cranky side once we got the lights strung she really started to get excited. She helped hang a few ornaments and had fun looking at all of the decorations as they came out of the boxes. Below are a few pics from the beginning of our 09 holiday adventures.

Here We Go Again!

Baby number two is on the way! That's right, we're pregnant! Baby Shockey number two is due May 17, 2010 and we couldn't be more excited....and a little surprised! Sheridan is so excited to be a big sister - as much as she understands. We are planning to let the gender be a surprise again this time....although I think its a girl. So, life has been busy and the to do list continues to grow. We are planning to turn the guest room into the nursery and transition Sheridan to a big girl bed - sooner than I had hoped but I think she will do fine. I am getting excited for Thanksgiving and even more excited for our 2nd Christmas with Sheridan. While I think she is still too young to get everything, I know she will really appreciate the decorations and lights this year - can't wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving to decorate and go shopping!! Below are just a few pics from Vala's!

Finally

Wow, it has been a really long time since I have blogged. I have been meaning to and time has just gotten away from me. Sheridan FINALLY hit the 20 pound mark at her 18 month appt (she is in the 3 percentile for weight) so we were finally able to turn the car seat around! She looks like such a big girl in the car and really seems to enjoy looking out the window and being able to see mom and dad in the front seat. We enjoy the extra leg room too :)

She is really talking up a storm, her latest craze (I hate to admit) is Barney. She says "arney, arney, arney" all day long. We often have to re-locate to a room without a TV to distract her otherwise we experience a little tantrum.

We have had some pretty fun outings over the last month. We went to Tiny Town for some village fun - photos are below. This last weekend we went up to the Orchards in Nebraska City with Grandma, Grandpa, Baba, Donna and Jimmy. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather and Sheridan really enjoyed walking on the trails just being outside. Below are some pics from our adventure there as well.
