So small, but so mighty

We went for Sheridan's 12 month check-up yesterday. She is only 17 lb 2 oz (4%), we were praying for 20 lbs so we could turn her around in the car and move up to the next car seat, but not quite yet. She sure feels like 20 pounds! What a little peanut. She is 28 3/4 in length (44%) so she has recently out grown her current car seat in length (but not weight), so I will be car seat shopping this morning. Everything else was perfect, our pediatrician always says she can't believe Sheridan was a month early because she is right on track with her age. Below are some additional pics from the party.

It's Fun to be One!

Sheridan is one! We had the big party on Saturday and had so much fun! Although the picture doesn't reflect it below she loved cake, it took her a minute to figure out what to do with it but once she did she sucked all the frosting off of her little fingers. She was spoiled with some fabulous gifts - I think her favorite of the day was the pink push car from Uncle Paul and the Playskool Ball Popper - both brought shrills of excitement. Jon took her around the block in her new car (we were blessed with beautiful weather) and he said she had perma grin the entire way. Aaah, the simple things in life that bring such joy. She also got this awesome kitchen from Grandma and Grandpa and the next morning spent about 45 minutes circling and turning knobs, opening and closing doors. This will be one that will last for a long time - although Jon says Sheridan can go into any line of work EXCEPT food service - funny coming from a chef huh? Great Uncle Jimmy took most the photos that day so once I have more I will post them but just wanted to share some initial shots!

From House to Home

I cannot believe it has been almost a month since the last time I blogged. This month has been so busy! Well, we have been in our house almost a year now and the only room that is really "complete" is Sheridan's. Decorating has kind of taken a back burner this year and because of the lack of decorating our house has often felt like just that a house and not so much a home. However, this last month we have really been able to spend some time and money to put some personal touches into the dining room / living room and now kitchen / family room. The kitchen and family room are being painted this week! And, we rearranged some furniture which I think makes much more sense for our lifestyle. We are turning the family room into a playroom - I have my dream furniture arrangement, but as with most home projects it will take time before we can afford everything but hopefully in the next 6 months it will be complete. Needless to say things are really starting to come along and it makes the house feel so much warmer to come home to....it feels like home.

Sheridan turns one on Saturday! I still cannot believe it, I am busy planning for the party - decorations, cake, gifts. So much to do. I promise to post photos after the big day. She is doing so good, her hair is starting to grow - it seems it is going to be a dirty blonde like mine. She is moving around so quick these days, still not quite balanced enough to take the first unassisted step but she's getting there. We have her one year appointment one week from Monday, I can't wait to see how much she has grown - not that I need a scale to tell me so...she weighs a ton these days.

Work was really busy last month - we had our big Ultra Chic Prom Boutique for Max I Walker, it was a huge success. Below is Jon's new favorite photo of Sheridan which was taken at the event....doing her favorite thing right now - sticking out her tongue.
