Planes

We went the air show last weekend! While Sheridan was scared at times when the planes got a little loud, I would definately take her again next year - below are a few pics.

Feels like forever

since I have blogged! I know I posted photos not too far back but it seems like a long time since I have given a real update. Sheridan is growing like a weed, but I still don't think she has hit 20 pounds (that's our goal so we can turn the car seat forward facing). We did a very "accurate" weight check on our scale, once while holding Sheridan and once without and then we subtracted the difference - putting her at approximately 19 pounds! She is chatting up a storm, still not really making sense but she is learning more words every day - she has down: mama, dada, puppy, baby, go, uh-oh, ouchie, quack quack, moo and meow. We are working on colors and shapes too. We have her 18 month check-up on the 21st of September.

I have recently started another blog: omahamoms.blogspot.com. Please check it out and spread the word if you know of anyone who might be interested in what we have to share.

I also painted Sheridan's bathroom! I know it seems like such a small task but I have been dilly dallying around on the shower curtain and colors and I finally made a decision - a princess theme! Are you surprised? The bathroom is actually purple with green accent but the shower curtain has princesses and frogs and butterflies and such - very girlie, very cute. Only four more rooms to paint!!! And, I think we might actually do our bathroom this weekend so that leaves only three rooms.

Jon is technically finished with school!! For a short time anyways - he has 3 or 4 tests left he needs to complete and then he will officially have his bachelors degree and then he plans to return to school next March to obtain his masters - I couldn't be more proud, he will actually be the first in our family and his to get his masters, what an awesome accomplishment that will be.

Well, that is the quick rundown of the Shockey's - below are just a few of the recent pics.

So Many Faces

I have had a lot of fun lately experimenting with a new camera. Of course, I have a fabulous model to practice on! Below are just a few of some of the shots I captured.

I love family!

Today we had a playdate with Nyla Bos (Sheridan's 2nd cousin....I think). Anyway, it was so fun to spend time with family and to see how much little Miss Nyla has grown! It was kind of funny too to see how huge Sheridan looked next to her - I am so used to Sheridan being the little one because most of her friends are older then she is, but that was definately not the case today. Plus, I think Sheridan is going through a bit of a growth spurt -she looked so tall today! We had fun attempting to get the girls to smile for the camera, as you can see in the pictures below we didn't have much luck. I can't wait for Nyla to get older so the two can play together....aren't they such beauties? There are a couple of other random pictures in the slide show that I had to include...

A Happy 4th of July

The 4th of July was a great day! We started the day with a neighborhood parade, it was so fun to see all of the kids in their festive bikes and little SUVs (not kidding on the SUVs). We went around a short block and then up to the school park for red, white and blue bomb pops. We spent most of the day inside listening to the kids shoot off firecrackers, at night we went next door for a neighboorhood potluck. Food was good and fireworks followed, there were several shows near by we could see as well....one of the perks of living in a neighborhood with no trees! Sheridan wasn't scared at all, she actually wanted to help. Below are some pictures from the parade as well as some other recents pics....my new favorite moment: asking for kisses, so sweet.

Giddy Up!

Oh the things a daddy will do....Jon had Sheridan all day last Friday. He was so proud to show me some of the pictures he captured during their day, this one was my favorite - Stallone apparently sat there for a good 2-3 minutes while Sheridan sat aboard before she got bored and hopped off. As frustrating as he can be at times, I know Sheridan will always remember how much fun it was to have a dog growing up!
